Resident evil code veronica. i am stuck. please help.....?

i am playing as chris in antartica. i am in the tiger statue room. i have read reviews and they say that i have to take blue jewel from tiger and it will spin. but in my case i keep on taking jewels but it never spins... i have taken around twenty jewels but the statue does not spin.. what should i do.??
