What is a serving size of old fashion oatmeal?

What is the recomended amount of oatmeal to eat? on the box it says a 1/2c but when i read the dietary guidelines it also says a 1/2 c is a serving, but i think they mean cooked. So for one serving of whole wheat is that a 1/2c raw of cooked?
